Last night while Motley Crue was performing “Primal Scream” in Estevan, SK, Canada….An audience member rushed the stage, bumping into Mick Mars which caused him to be knocked down. The fan then attempted to grab singer Vince Neil before being tackled and hauled off by security.   “What the fuck is wrong with you, you fucking idiot?”, drummer Tommy Lee shouted as the man was being dragged off the stage…..Vince Neil then told the audience, “We might be back”.

After a brief break, Motley Crue did return to the stage to finish the concert.  Mick Mars, who celebrated his 62nd birthday yesterday (5/4/13), posted on twitter this afternoon with the following message “Thank all of you for your concerns about me being knocked down last night I’m alright nothing broken. My body guard Rhyno got 2 busted ribs” (from @mrmickmars).

In a 2008 interview with MusicRadar, Mick stated about his medical condition: “It’s no walk in the park. In fact, it’s why I kind of walk like Frankenstein. [laughs] The thing about ankylosing spondylitis is, it’s caused by a gene; you first start noticing pain in your hips, usually when you’re in your teens. What it does is it slowly fuses your bones together — your spine, your ribs… With most people it stops in their 30s, when the disease is still in their lower back. In my case, I have a rare form of the disease that hasn’t stopped, so it’s all the way up my whole back and into my brain stem. It’s literally squeezing my rib cage together, so I’ve lost some height. And now that it’s up in my brain stem it’s hard for me to move my head in any direction, be it up and down or sideways. So I can’t drive, I can’t do any of that kind of stuff — this isn’t a ‘boo-hoo’, it’s just the facts.”

Las Vegas, NV (April 2, 2013) – The world’s most notorious band will be coming back to the world’s most notorious city this fall, when Mötley Crüe returns to Las Vegas. The rockers best known for going to the extreme will once again take over the stage at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for an exclusive twelve show engagement September 18 through October 6. The band blew away fans and critics last February with twelve over-the-top, sold-out shows. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am.

The fall shows will be an all-new production and the band is pushing their own envelope once again. The production will be designed exclusively for The Joint in partnership with AEG Live. There will be plenty of surprise elements for fans and a set-list full of hits.

Vince Neil was rushed to the hospital during Motley Crue’s performance in Sydney, Australia. Nikki Sixx posted the following on twitter,  “Sorry Sydney for a short set tonight but Vince had to be rushed to the hospital for internal pain. Will update you on his progress.” Shortly after, guitarist Mick Mars made the following post on twitter as well, “Sydney, my apologies for a short set this evening. Vince had an attack of kidney stones. He went straight from stage to the hospital.”

Vince Neil is currently preparing to have surgery in 90 minutes to extract the kidney stone.

Nikki Sixx will also be signing autographs at the Dean Markley USA booth at 5pm on January 26^th at booth # 5710 during this year’s National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show in Anaheim, California. The collaboration between Dean Markley USA and Nikki Sixx started in late 2011 as the two set out to design a set of signature bass strings able to withstand the demands of the road and the studio while still delivering the tone and attitude that you would expect from a rock icon.  The result became the Nikki Sixx Signature Series Helix bass string.  The signature sets offers the exact string type and gauges he uses on stage and are constructed of stainless steel alloy.   They feature the new Helix patent-pending hyper-elliptical windings and Nikki sums it up best: “Dean Markley puts the bite back in the bass sound.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Motley Crue has been dragged into a lawsuit between Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler’s former management company (Tenth Street Entertainment) and his lawyer.

Kovac Media Group (d/b/a Tenth Street Entertainment), which served as Tyler’s personal manager, sued attorney Dina LaPolt last October claiming she cost Tyler a $6 to $8 million pay raise in 2011 in his contract for another season with “American Idol”. Kovac Media Group, run by Allen Kovac, is now claiming that LaPolt has attempted to retaliate against him for the lawsuit by “conspiring” to “set up a competing management company” to steal away Motley Crue, the “world-famous rock band” that Kovac has been representing for the past 15 years.

On Monday, January 7th, declarations by Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars and drummer Tommy Lee were filed along with new court papers by LaPolt asking a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to strike Kovac’s complaint based on California’s anti-SLAPP statute.  According to Mars’ declaration, he first learned of what had happened on Oct. 15, when he got an e-mail from LaPolt describing the dispute and stating that he should get an independent attorney if he was concerned. Mars says he was “completely shocked and mad that Motley Crue’s manager had sued our lawyer. I trust Dina implicitly, to the point that she is my trustee if I die or become disabled.”

A few hours after Mars read the e-mail, he says he was informed that Pam Malek, the band’s business manager, had told one of Kovac’s attorneys to draw up documents giving Kovac $200,000 of Motley Crue money. According to Mars, the money was supposed to repay a personal loan that Kovac had given to the band’s singer Vince Neil (no longer a shareholder in the band), but Mars said that he never voted for that to happen. “Once I saw Pam Malek’s e-mail, I got very concerned about her ability to be unbiased and act in my best interests,” says Mars. “Because Pam is also the business manager for 11-7 Recording Corp. (one of Allen Kovac’s companies) and represents many of Allen Kovac’s clients, I felt she was controlled by him and would do whatever he demanded, whether or not it was in my best interests.” Malek was later terminated, and Mars hired new representatives. Mars calls Kovac’s assertion that LaPolt was interfering and guiding him to retain new business reps to be “false and ridiculous” and that “any strain between Motley Crue and Allen Kovac is caused by Allen Kovac’s actions.”

Vince Neil has a new venture on the horizon.  He has recently signed a deal with Hooters Casino Hotel to open up a “Rock and Roll Sports Bar” in his hometown of Las Vegas, NV.   The new bar will be titled “The Wildside Saloon”, which is scheduled to open next month.

The Wildside Saloon is just the latest addition to Neil’s growing business empire, which already includes his Tres Rios cantina, his Tatuado vodka (sold exclusively at Lee’s Discount Liquor), and his Girls, Girls, Girls strip club.   Neil is currently on his “END OF THE WORLD TOUR” with his solo band! Motley Crue Vince Neil will star in a new reality series titled “Vince Neil Escapes”,  a documentary style program which follows the Motley Crue rocker as he attempts to earn his pilot’s license.

“He’s faced with some choices that could have life-and-death consequences,” producer Anthony Nalli says in a press release.

“He’s called upon to summon a serious side that many Vince-haters doubt even exists. It’s a classic battle of temptation that we all face — only on a Rock Star scale.”

Neil, his girlfriend and flight instructor are the stars of the show, with the latter attempting to convince Neil—ever the wild child—to get serious about his goal.

“My plan is to fly me and my friends around where we need to go out here in Vegas,” Neil told Entertainment Weekly. “But in the long run, when the Mötley thing comes to an end, I want to retire in the Bahamas, get a sea plane, and have some fun.”
